The great thing about being a law student and having a teacher wife: We both get a spring break. Unfortunately, last year, our breaks were a month apart. This year, however, we have the same break. When we figured that out last fall, we got excited and immediately started planning a trip. What should we do? Go on a cruise; head to Vegas; travel to Charleston and Savannah? We had decided on option three and were planning a 4 or 5 day getaway to Charleston and Savannah. Then, we found out we were having a baby, so we needed to save that money. So, we scrapped our plans and are going to Orlando to visit Laura's parents for a few days. It's hard to beat free lodging and meals in Orlando. While we're there, we're going to the Magic-Cavs game Monday night. Laura and I are looking forward to see Superman vs. King James.

Other than the game on Monday night, we have no big plans for our time in Orlando. We won't be heading to Disney this time, but may head to Daytona or New Smyrna Beach for a day. I'm sure we will also spend some time by the pool. Hopefully, we will have a meal at my personal favorite restaurant in Orlando, BJ's Brewhouse. I'm sure we'll also have to spend a little time at Laura's favorite spot in Orlando. After what will hopefully be a relaxing few days, we're heading back to Birmingham on Thursday.
My parents and sister are joining us in Birmingham on Friday for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Birmingham. March Madness is quite possibly my favorite time of year. It's right up there with Christmas and Wedding Season. We're still hopeful that the committee will send Vanderbilt to Birmingham, but with the loss to Arkansas today, that's probably not going to happen. After spending the weekend at basketball games and doing Easter festivities with the family, it will be back to work and school for those final few weeks before summer.
