Greetings from Florida!

Kenneth has now been in Florida for about 6 weeks, and I have been here 2 weeks. It has been wonderful! We've gotten to spend a lot of time lounging in and around my parents' pool, and we've been eating great meals. It's been awfully wonderful not having to be super responsible since we aren't staying at our home!

Here are a couple of my favorites since we've been here so far:

Sun Showers! You can see the rain hitting the pool. I love sun showers!

Driving 45 minutes to eat lunch on the waters of Daytona Beach Shores. Then driving home in time to get a nap and get in the pool. A perfect day!

Yesterday, my mom and I met my old best friend, Sara, (who lived across the street from us when we lived in Apopka years ago when I was in kindergarten) and her mother for lunch. Sara has a 10 and a half month old daughter named Katie, and I forgot to take a picture (which I'll blame on the Pregnancy Alzheimer's). Hopefully we'll meet up again before I head back to Alabama and I'll get a picture then. We had a wonderful lunch at a local Italian restaurant...it is always good to see old friends!

Tomorrow, Melissa (Brothers) Shepard, my high school friend and college roommate who has traded in her southern living for a life in Cali, is coming to spend the day with me, and I'm thrilled! She is vacationing with her family at their place in Palm Coast, FL, which is only about an hour and a half away. Yay for getting to see another old friend!

Kenneth and I will be heading up to Birmingham on Thursday evening when he gets off of work. I have an OB appointment at 9:30 on Friday morning. We will then be leaving on Saturday for Emerald Isle, NC, which is where his family goes every year for vacation. We'll be there for a week, and then it will be back to Florida.

The summer is already flying by! My maternity leave was approved by the Jefferson County Board of Education, so now I really need to begin getting my sub-plans all together. I know the beginning of the school year and Baby Michael will be here before we know it!
