13 Months

Michael turned 13 months on September 8, and this has definitely been the month that we've noticed the most changes.

He is starting to mimic sounds and words. Blair, Kenneth's sister, has a new puppy whose name is Yo Yo, and that was Michael first official word, meaning he would look at Yo Yo and say his name. He's been saying Ma Ma and Da Da forever, but he has never said it in reference to us. So...Yo Yo was his first word! Which is strange since Kenneth's word was Abby, who also a doggy.

He is very close to being able to run. He walks REALLY fast right now.

He can go from a sitting to a standing position without pulling up an anything. I think this is so cute. I didn't realize what a milestone that was until he actually did it.

He doesn't eat anymore baby food. This has it's ups and downs. It takes a lot longer to feed him now because we have to give him the portion of the meal that we know he doesn't necessarily prefer first. So, usually the veggies are served first, and then we serve the protein, and then the fruit or cheese. This boy can put down the cheddar cheese. It was a lot easier when he ate baby food because we could throw a few jars in the diaper bag and go. Now we have to pack whatever we're going to feed him ahead of time and then keep it in a little cooler until we feed him. But, it's definitely nice that he can eat himself since all we're really feeding him now are things he can eat with his fingers.

He's such a big boy! Every stage we go through is different and so much fun!
